Via Appia Antica by bike
When strolling through Rome, you’ll probably don’t see many cyclists, as most prefer to enjoy the idyllic landscape of the Via Appia Antica for a bike tour.
You will explore the “Queen of all roads”, as it is also called, on a rented bicycle. The road offers cultural sights like catacombs, tombs and churches.
After a tour through the Catacombs of San Callisto or San Sebastiano and a visit of the San Sebastiano church and Quo vadis church, where Saint Peter met Jesus Christus on his flight from Rome, the drive continues to the imposing tomb of Caecilia Metalla, daughter of Roman consul Quintus Caecilius Metellus Creticus. Finally, you can relax and have a great view of the green landscapes of the Via Appia.
